How Many Basketball Trading Pins Should Our Team Order?

PinMaxx has a minimum order of 100 pins. The appropriate quantity depends on several factors:

  • The number of players on our roster.
  • The number of teams attending the event.
  • Whether pin trading is part of the tournament culture.
  • The number of pins each player should receive.
  • Whether coaches and family members also need pins.
  • Whether we want extra keepsakes for the club.

One simple approach is to decide how many pins each player should receive and multiply that number by the roster size. For example, a 12-player team that wants each player to receive 20 pins would order approximately 240 pins. Consider adding extras for coaches, family members, lost pins, additional trades, and team keepsakes. Ordering enough initially is generally easier than trying to produce a small supplemental order after the main shipment has arrived.

What Size Should a Basketball Trading Pin Be?

Most trading pins are approximately 1.5 to 2 inches, although the best size depends on the design. A smaller pin may work well for a simple basketball shape, short team name, or basic logo. A larger pin may be more appropriate when the design includes:

  • A long team or tournament name.
  • Multiple player numbers.
  • An age division and season year.
  • Several colors or design sections.
  • Moving or attached features.
