Police Lapel Pins

Lapel Pins for Law Enforcement

Does your police department need custom lapel pins? We have worked with police and law enforcement departments across the U.S. to design custom lapel pins for their officers. Not only are lapel pins needed in law enforcement, medical and fire department officers also typically have a need for custom lapel pins.

What Does a Police Lapel Pin Signify?pinmaxx custom die struck pin / police lapel pin

Lapel pins can have a variety of meanings when worn by a police officer. Custom law enforcement pins can signify the following:

  • Affiliation with a particular organization
  • A person’s honor within the organization
  • Shows a measure of accountability and respect
  • Pride in service
  • Signifies trust
  • Indicates a willingness to sacrifice
  • A form of motivation
  • A form of recognition

When lapel pins are worn as a form of recognition there are a few categories the recipient can receive the recognition for, those include valor, merit, lifesaving, excellence in the job, and community. Each pin in the category has a different meaning and the pins vary in color and insignia.

What Other Types of Pins Can Police and Law Enforcement Officials Order From PinMaxx?

Over the years we have created a variety of pins. Some of our customers have ordered flag or awareness pins, special unit pins, name plate pins, years of service lapel pins, award ribbons, tie tacks, collar brass pins, anniversary pins, and retirement pins.

Our designers can customize any type of lapel pin for law enforcement. We are often asked what type of pin is best for law enforcement? What is the material? Many of the orders we fulfill for police lapel pins are for a metal type of pin, for example our Die Struck pin. This type of pin is usually made of brass, copper or iron metal. We can stamp this type of pin with a mold or dye, we do not use paint colors on this type of design. This type of pin does feature a mixture of raised smooth areas and recessed textured backgrounds.

We design a Die Struck pin in a variety of shapes and sizes. Our law enforcement clients have been very happy with our Die Struck lapel pin for anniversaries, career milestones such as retirement celebration, graduation from the police academy and service awards.

If your department is looking for other types of pins, we recommend learning more about our Soft Enamel, Cloisonné and Offset Printed lapel pins. These three pin types are very different compared to our Die Struck pins. The primary difference is color. With a Die Struck pin we do not add color where as with these other three pin types color is very much a large part of the pin.

Our Cloisonné pin is more of a formal or professional looking pin, it’s usually shiny, smooth and full of color. Read more about our Cloisonné lapel pin.
Our Soft Enamel pin is more budget friendly when compared to the Cloisonné pin and offers color, and a three dimensional appearance to it. Learn more about our Soft Enamel lapel pin.

As with our Cloisonné and Soft Enamel pins, our Offset Printed lapel pins also offer a host of colors, fine text and the ability to be designed using high-resolution photographs . When a pin has tiny intricate designs like in a photograph, an Offset Printed lapel pin is the best type of pin to use. Sports teams such as Little League Baseball and Little League Softball typically always choose an Offset Printed lapel pin as well. (links to baseball and softball pages here) Curious to learn more?
